The Maternal Fitness® Program is our cornerstone fitness service.
Through this program, women receive the core knowledge and
skills enabling them to exercise safely throughout their pregnancy,
obtain the strength for labor and delivery and get back their
core muscles quickly after birth. The comprehensive Maternal Fitness® Program includes the following options:
Before pregnancy: Private
Training is available at the Center
or in your home
During
pregnancy: The Maternal Fitness® Workshop, a six week
program
After
pregnancy: The
Lose Your Mummy Tummy Seminar and the Lose
Your Mummy Tummy Fitness Class, a 2 session exercise class
The Maternal Fitness® Workshop
The six-week Maternal Fitness® Workshop can be started
any time in your pregnancy. The earlier you start the more beneficial it will be. The goal of the workshop is to teach you:
- The changes a woman's body undergoes during pregnancy and
how to safely exercise as these occur.
- The Tupler Technique proprietary exercises to strengthen
the abdominal muscles. Strong abdominals will help minimize
back problems and promote effective pushing in labor.
- Skills required to more effectively manage the challenging
marathon of labor.
- State-of-the-art techniques for strengthening and stretching
the essential muscle groups, especially the abdominals and
pelvic floor.
The workshop includes two BAKS basics lectures (partners invited)
and four exercise sessions with light weights and dyna bands.
Workshops include a Coming Contractions pain management audio
cassette tape, dyna band and educational package. For more
